This is a multi-level position Sr. Computer Systems Technologist I (G08) or Sr. Computer Systems Technologist II (G09) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and requirements for this position. Job Description: Provide IT systems administration in a Microsoft Windows environment. Understanding of Windows internals, and knowledge of fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. Work as a team member in a fast paced technological environment. Help develop and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS). Perform OS tuning to maximize system performance on both physical and virtual systems. Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Work across IT functions to standardize processes and procedures. Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures. Minimum Required Skills / Certifications: Bachelor's in IT or STEM related field or equivalent experience is required and 4 years of related experience is required or a MS degree in IT or STEM and 2 years of experience Must be able to obtain a final Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance w/ SSBI Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date In-depth working experience in Windows including directory services management, and system hardening Knowledge of government vulnerability management and security software including ACAS & HBSS Previous experience supporting SIPRNet, CNET, or other government WAN connections Experience with a CCRI or other similar types of government audits Patch management experience using Windows WSUS, SCCM, or other tool In-depth knowledge of OS internals, file system structures, and machine architectures Familiar with TCP/IP, switches, firewalls, routers, and their basic operations Knowledge and experience using Information Technology project lifecycle Develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems Ability to lead special projects and manage resources Ability to train others in standard IT processes and procedures Able to lift 15 pounds Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours Position may require some travel Highly Desired Skills / Certifications: An active DoD Top Secret, TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or prior SCI/program eligibility Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) Direct working experience with NISPOM, JSIG, and/or DoD/RMF 4 years' experience maintaining a medium sized Server environment Experience in Project Leadership, Management, or Project management in an IT domain Working knowledge of Backup Exec, NetApp Snap Protect, data backup technologies, systems principles, and safeguards Networking experience including TCP/IP, Encryption, Routing, Switching, and Firewalls Advanced scripting experience Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development Advanced hands on experience with Windows and Unix security hardening, systems integrations, advanced troubleshooting and authentication service integration (LDAP) Unix (Including Linux and Solaris), experience in a medium to high complex environment Working knowledge of Backup Exec, NetApp Snap Protect, data backup technologies, systems principles, and safeguards Desire and ability to work as a contributing team member Effective customer and communications skills Ability to work under time constraints, self-starter, customer focused, adaptable and willing to work varying assignments Organizational skills to include: attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask This position requires eligibility to obtain a final Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
