Chief Financial Officer
IND-1 The Chief Financial Officer plans, organizes, directs the finance, revenue cycle and materials management functions for all wholly owned entities of Washington Health System (System). Duties include the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of System policies on corporate finance and accounting, hospital billing and registration, System purchasing/material management, oversight of patient accounting/financial accounting systems, internal controls, tax and auditing. In addition this position is responsible for hospital payor contracting, debt management, investment management, defined benefit pension accounting and strategy, board leadership of the System's insurance captive and other board assignments within the System. This position serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the corporation.. Manages Washington Health System and affiliates' financial resources. Ensures the establishment and maintenance of appropriate reports and records.. Participates in development of Finance department objectives and organization's objectives. Participates and approves in the development of Washington Health System and affiliates' operating budgets; ensures the preparation of cost reports involving state and federal agencies; coordinates cost and reimbursement analyses. Oversees tax, audit and other relevant consulting services.. Has direct responsibility for debt related activities, investment management, Hospital payor contracting, and management of System's insurance captive. Maintains in depth knowledge of various payment methods used by payors.. Prepares agenda and coordinates content for all System Board Finance Committee meetings. Participates in System Board meetings and other entity board meetings as requested.. Participates in development of Hospital Revenue Cycle objectives to ensure compliance with state and federal billing and collection guidelines and maximum collection of Hospital accounts receivable.. Administers investigation, analyses, and presents recommendations with respects to costs and/or rates to enhance and maximize reimbursement to support Washington Health System activities with third party payors and insurers.. Bachelor's Degree required.. Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting preferred.. Experience. Required. Experience in all phases of hospital financial management.. 5 year(s): Experience as a senior level finance manager in a health care environment.
