The Director, Business Intelligence, Analytics and Decision Support provides strategic planning, operational planning, implementation oversight, leadership, and management of all activities to drive the business intelligence and analytics program. This is a management position in the Division of Information Technology (DIT) at the University of Maryland, College Park, and reports to the Executive Director. The Director has specific responsibility for: - Planning, designing and implementing the technical infrastructure to support business intelligence. - Creating and expanding the capabilities of BI technologies that deliver enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, and data warehousing solutions. - Working collaboratively with service offices and administrators throughout the university for successfully supporting the use of data for improved decision making. - Implementing best practices in business intelligence Minimum qualifications: EDUCATION Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or a related field. EXPERIENCE Minimum 10 years of IT enterprise related experience. Proven experience managing large, complex, distributed projects with multiple teams. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Familiarity with current architectural directions and industry standards related to development of business intelligence platforms and data warehouse. Demonstrated track record and commitment to delivering successful projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills. Supervisory experience, including hiring and mentoring a high performance team. Preferences: Master's Degree in Information Technology or related field. Experience with a higher education institution. Experience in cloud computing technologies such as AWS. Experience with data analytics technologies/projects. Experience with building a data warehouse to support ERP systems. Experience with Data Governance and supporting data quality initiatives.
