Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is currently recruiting for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to work Full-time (40hrs/wk), Rotating Shift (Days & Evenings) in support of our Outpatient Pharmacy operations at our Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA.


Sentara Leigh Hospital is a Magnet Status, 250-bed facility featuring all patient-friendly private rooms and specializing in orthopedic, gynecological and urological services. Sentara Leigh offers a contemporary care environment for general medical/surgical and ambulatory services and is home to the orthopedic hospital, which has 48 beds dedicated to specialized orthopedic care. The hospital offers a full-service Emergency Room with a dedicated observation unit, Critical Care, GI, and Oncology services. It also encompasses a Family Maternity Center.

For the one year Pharmacy Technician experience, at least six months must be in a retail environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient focused and cost efficient drug therapy.

Education Level
High School Grad or Equivalent

Required: Pharmacy Technician - 1 year
