Senior Coordinator, IRB
The Senior Coordinator helps all the Project Coordinators on their daily activities; the position is needed because the workload for each coordinator (Committees A and B; MHRI-GU Oncology committee D, social behavioral, Com. C) is too large for one person. The Senior Coordinator helps all the IRB coordinators with the daily workload as described below; and is the Project Coordinator for GHUCCTS. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Administration of IRB committee in accordance with applicable laws and regulations under the supervision of the director of the IRB.
- Log in new and renewal applications.
- Screen new, continuing review and amendment applications.
- Prepare meeting agendas. Prepare meeting minutes.
- Draft correspondence that conveys deliberations and actions of IRB, including but not limited to, approvals, deferrals, and disapprovals of research activities involving human subjects. Proof and edit IRB correspondence.
- Provide consultation, assistance, and dissemination of information regarding the review process to the IRB members and research community.
- Maintain the IRB filing system and determine the terminated studies that may be sent to the archive.
- Audit IRB files as directed by the director of the IRB.
- Screen new, continuing review and amendment applications.
- Issue the institutional approval letter. Log in adverse events and/or unanticipated problems.
- Maintains the IRB website as directed by the Director of the IRB, or as otherwise needed. Maintains the IRB rosters for all GU, MHRI-GU Oncology and GHUCCTS IRBs.
- Conducts IRB workshops. Runs the billing reports for the GU IRB services; and any other IRB related reports requested by other university officers and/or the research community.
- Administers IRB committee in accordance with applicable laws and regulations under the supervision of the director of the IRB.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant administrative experience, or other relevant IRB experience
- Knowledge experience and demonstrated skills in interpreting all regulations governing the use of two of the following research areas: human subjects, care and use of laboratory animals, and recombinant DNA, conversant with legal and ethical issues, medical terminology and scientific principles. familiarity with a university setting, excellent communications skills, proven ability to interact with a broad constituencies, including faculty, patients, researchers, administrators, students and government offices, data base management and excellent computer skills
