Oracle Java and J2EE Developer Description The application developer will support the technical trouble shooting for the Premium Practitioner System (PPS) application. PPS represents a hybrid between legacy, custom Java coded PAS components and new Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) COTS components like Accounts Receivables, Trading Community Architecture (TCA) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) modules that have been customized for PBGC premium operations. EBS was upgraded to Release 12.1.3 (R12) in August of 2014 with plans to upgrade again in the near future. The majority of PPS reporting is done via Oracle XML and BI Publisher. The legacy PPS components use Oracle forms 10g, Reports 10g, PLSQL, JAVA and J2EE (on middle tiers) to process filing information and to calculate the premium, interest, and penalties due from defined-benefit pension plans. It also applies the cash received from each plan against amounts due to client and generates plan specific Statement of Accounts (SOAs) for unpaid premiums, interest and penalties. PPS generates Past Due Filing Notices (PDFNs) to be sent to those plan administrators who fail to file. These middle Tier servers utilize an RHEL operating system along with Oracle Weblogic. The PPS is the system of record for premium filings and payments received by client for each plan year. PPS uses a web service to receive and validate the filing and payment information received from My PAA. It creates an image of the electronic data, processes filings and payments per normal procedures, computes any interest and penalty owed, and calculates overpayments (amounts owed to plans) and underpayments (amounts owed to client for underpaid premiums or for late premiums). This information is included in the plan account histories and invoices that are issued for each plan year. In addition, the premium system determines whether filings are missing so that past due filing notices may be issued and reports may be generated that provide financial information for client's annual reports. What Yoursquoll Do The developer will be responsible for creating, enhancing, fixing Java Web Services and SQL stored procedures used by a software application that our client uses for premium filing and payment processing. The developer will work directly with customers and functional analysts to gather requirements, document requirements, develop and demonstrate iterations of software changes, leading up to the final version of the change that will be included in the official release. For complex enhancements, a non-functional mock-up will be created so that the developer can show the user what the change is expected to look like. With a series of iterations, the developer adds functionality to the enhancement and demonstrates the functionality to the user. For simple enhancements, there might be only one or two iterations before the final code is ready for demonstration to the user. While complex enhancements might extend beyond the two-week sprint time period, the goal of the sprint is to produce working software that can be implemented into production every two weeks. In these cases, the developer will work with the user to clarify requirements and to determine how they can be released in iterations into production so that working software is released for the enhancement at the end of the two-week sprint Years of Experience 7 plus years of experience with following skills. Preferred federal experience. Skills JavaJ2EE and Java software development frameworks eg Jdeveloper, Securing and building machine-to-machine data sharing technology, eg using WebLogic Web Services, SQL, PLSQL, Oracle XMLBI publisher, Oracle 11g12C database, Oracle Release 12 EBS (Oracle Receivables, TCA, CRM Teleservices)
