  • This position requires at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band/grade, equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience performing a broad range of administrative and management functions including business analytics, budget, travel, training, human resources, space and/or procurement, maintain databases and calendars, coordinating travel arrangements and meetings/conferences; researching, analyzing and gathering information in support of mission programs and operations; preparing a variety of written products including preliminary and finished correspondence, reports and documents; and providing advice and guidance on administrative and program issues.

    This position does not have an education requirement.  

    This is not a bargaining unit position.

    Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid for by the GAO.

    All applicants will be rated based on their responses to the assessment questions, in conjunction with the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

    • Knowledge of policies and practices related to administrative operations and engagement process and management, and other procedural matters and the ability to assess and evaluate these policies and practices and develop improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ability to maintain financial expenditure records and provide periodic reports to assist organization management in budget execution and formulation.
    • Ability to identify relevant data sources, evaluates data accuracy, and analyze data.
    • Collaborative skill to lead projects that focus on the development of new and innovative approaches to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative services and operations.
    • Ability to maintain and communicate sensitive and confidential materials, documents, records and information for senior officials.
    • Comprehensive and technical knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suites and web-based data entry and management systems operationally deployed within GAO, and an understanding of their interrelationships to maintain the information contained within these systems and produce complete and accurate reports.
    • Skill in communicating clearly and effectively both orally and in writing with GAO leadership, internal engagement staff, congressional staff, and agency officials at multiple levels of the organization.
