This Senior Developer position is part of the IT Division - Enterprise Business Technology Officer (EBTO) Organization.
Our workplace includes engagement with our Business stakeholders (Legal, Corporate Administrative Office, Corporate Communications and other areas), other technical areas and working with fellow developers, analysts, testers, project managers ensuring timely delivery of initiatives.
The Senior Developer role will involve
  • identification/proof of concept testing/supporting functional testing/implementation/support of new COTS, SaaS applications
  • providing production / maintenance support on existing applications
  • supporting SDLC, Agile methodology based projects
  • design, develop, test and implement integrations with other applications like AD, Workday, Single sign on (SSO), upstream/downstream applications, data feeds, etc
  • supporting infrastructure changes//upgrades impacts on applications
  • support unit-testing and functional testing as part of the implementation.
  • Provide LOE for the project/work assignments
  • support and deliver on other Developer related work assignments
  • participate and contribute to the internal Developer forums
  • support adoption of new technologies

Category One : Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Understand Business Requirements; participate in Requirements Analysis; identify COTS/Saas solutions by working technical team and architects; design Applications based on System Requirements and Architecture, prototype if necessary, develop, unit test and deploy/support applications
  • Ability to handle assignments independently and help manage projects end to end Design, develop/integrate, support application/infrastructure changes
  • Accountable for owning and maintaining software solutions including operations, user support and collaborating with other teams across organization
  • Provide production support that includes evaluate defects, investigate cause and come up with solutions to address defects or routines that requires manual maintenance. Keen eye for troubleshooting issues
  • Successful delivery against stated objectives
Category two: Team Management and Leadership:

  • Work closely with Development Manager, Tech Lead and other Technical teams to assess impact of issues and provide alternative solutions/recovery plans to ensure goals are achieved
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors and internal business partners to ensure product adoption

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, typically has minimum 10 years of related experience
Education:
  • College Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
Required experience/skills:
  • Experience with supporting projects using SDLC, Agile methodologies
  • Experience with supporting COTS, SaaS applications
  • In-depth architectural knowledge and design experience of infrastructure, systems, storage and applications solutions
  • Knowledge of various webserver applications and architecture, such as Apache and Nginx is required
  • Java, J2E, Unix, Windows, related web frameworks, database knowledge is required
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS and.or O365 and/or Google) - required.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripts - required
  • Experience with Active Directory, Single sign on (SSO), application security aspects, versatility in supporting applications in Linux/Unix, Windows environments, integrations - required.

Preferred Skills

  • Web Content Management and Enterprise Digital Media solutions knowledge/experience is preferred
