Overview Peraton has a great opportunity supporting our corporate efforts. We are currently seeking a Costpoint Project Set-up Specialist for our headquarters in Herndon, VA. In this role, the Costpoint Project Set-up Specialist will use Deltek Costpoint Accounting system to monitor and execute requests to set up projects that are used to track the company's financial and contractual data. This is a highly visible position that determines the company's ability to accurately collect data, bill its customers, and prepare accurate financial documents. Responsibilities Set up and maintain assigned projects in Costpoint based on project requirements and in compliance with the Company's set up rules to ensure the proper recognition of revenue Compare actual project expenses against contract terms and conditions and the Federal Acquisition Regulations for accuracy (POP, funding, billing rates, labor categories, un-allowable expenses). Perform monthly reconciliations of billed/unbilled vs. revenue activity. Research and resolve unexplained reconciling items. Notify the Sr. Manager of Corporate Project Accounting of significant, reconciling items that remain unresolved for extended periods. Continually assess ongoing processes to identify areas for potential improvement. As required, participate in initiatives to improve processes (i. e. participate in working groups). Adjustment to manual invoices may be required for known errors, prior to corrections being made in Costpoint. Identify errors and issues (incorrect project set ups, misclassified expenses) and notify the Finance Lead to correct. Review manual invoices in Excel (adjusting for known errors). Enter and post in Costpoint. Calculate automated invoices in Costpoint. Review and post in Costpoint. Prepare Schedule billings. Based on review of the billing log and given feedback from the Accounting & Finance, follow up on payment discrepancies with clients (short pays and over pays). Ensure compliance with the Company s financial policies and procedures as they relate to invoicing and collections. Serve as a liaison between the Program Managers and the Sr. Manager of Corporate Project Accounting. Qualifications REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field. Degree may be substituted for relevant years of experience and/or certifications. 8+ years of experience using Deltek Costpoint 7.1.1 and particularly project setup and billing modules/capabilities. 8+ years of experience using cost reimbursable, time and material and fixed price government contracts as well as commercial contracts. 3+ years of Accounting and/or Financial experience in a government contracting environment PREFERRED: Perform daily tasks with a high level of efficiency and extreme attention to detail. Have the rapport and the attitude to ask the right questions that will lead to the core of a problem and execute resolution quickly and efficiently. Possess good judgement and the ability to make sound decisions Work independently and without daily instruction Interact and collaborate with technical and administrative personnel.
