Director, Product Marketing Aerospace and Defense Job Locations US-NC-Research Triangle Park Requisition ID 2019-7547 Category (Portal Searching) RF Engineering Job Description The Director, Product Marketing Aerospace and Defense is responsible for the strategic direction of Wolfspeed's Aerospace and Defense component product line. Primary responsibility is to drive product strategy and segment alignment for forward looking growth within Wolfspeed's market-leading portfolio of gallium nitride (GaN) HEMTs and MMICs. Gallium Nitride RF technology is the future for Wolfspeed's RF portfolio and the next generation for Design Engineers looking to convert their silicon or gallium arsenide-based power amplifier systems to the smaller, more efficient systems enabled by GaN. You will be part of a fast-growing semiconductor business. You will be part of a world class team to drive continued success in our core markets and help shape the future of power RF. This is a highly visible position in a strategic product field. You will have the opportunity to work with the most advanced technologies in the RF industry and have a significant impact in the next product platform innovations that are introduced into the market. The position interacts directly with the power amplifier design companies in the industry and our product development engineers, operations personnel and commercial sales to deliver the right products that customers are looking for. What can you do for our Company? * Identify market needs and applications and develop strategic marketing plans and forecasts to achieve corporate goals and objectives * Develop and manage marketing operating budgets and associated business plans * Provide product development feedback and development guidance based on voice of customer * Work in conjunction with corporate communications, channel marketing, and product marketing to develop marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and associated marketing collateral * Partner with our corporate sales team to grow both our direct and distribution sales channels via management of design registrations, ship & debits, channel inventory and pricing * Develop and execute product strategy and roadmaps including product positioning and overall price book responsibility * Oversee and evaluate market research and competitive analysis to support business planning activities and adjust marketing strategy as necessary * Establish and maintain relationships with key strategic partners to facilitate accelerated segment growth What you need for success: * Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical engineering * 10+ years Mil Aero RF product marketing experience or similar technical sales * Understanding of Mil Aero systems, applications and supporting power transistor/amplifier requirements * A proven leader with the experience and ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams * Strong verbal, written & presentation communications skills * Willingness to travel, including internationally as necessary Highly preferred skills and certifications: * Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or MBA * 3+ years RF amplifier circuit design or similar RF applications experience * 3+ years' experience in Channel Marketing * Extensive experience supporting customers, direct sales and distribution sales partners * Extensive experience with new product launch and new business development * Experience and use of Salesforce.com and Oracle Overview At Cree, we've spent more than 30 years developing industry firsts as a leader in wide bandgap semiconductor technology.
