Location: US-VA-Arlington Job ID: 2019-1849 # of Openings: 1 Category: Finance & Accounting Position Sumary ARC is searching for a Technical Accountant to join our Corporate Finance and Accounting team. As the Technical Accountant, you will be responsible for the research and application of accounting and reporting guidance for a variety of emerging and complex accounting issues. In this role, you will need to interpret and apply technical guidance, and draft technical accounting memos substantiating the company's position on a variety of topics. You will partner closely with members of the finance, operations, and legal teams, along with independent auditors to ensure accurate reporting and full compliance with all external standards. You will also have the opportunity to assist in special projects and process improvements. You will be based at our metro-accessible headquarters in Arlington, VA. What You'll Get to Do: Monitor, research, and analyze technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP requirements. Keep up to date on latest accounting guidance, including recent FASB Exposure drafts on various topics that impact the Company's financial reporting efforts. Serve as an internal expert, consultant and resource regarding complex accounting topics for unique, new or non-standard transactions Document accounting conclusions in formal memos and work with external auditors to support accounting positions. Communicate accounting conclusions to leadership including discussion on the complexities and key impacts beyond accounting Review contracts and be able to identify and resolve accounting issues related to revenue recognition, leases, unique business arrangements and other areas as needed. Review and maintain current accounting policies/procedures and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies You'll Bring These Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 4+ years of experience with business and accounting/financial reporting processes, systems and controls resulting in in-depth knowledge of accounting policies, internal controls and processes.
