Sentara CarePlex is hiring a Night shift RN Charge Nurse/Unit Coordinator for the Intermediate Care / Stepdown Unit.

Department/Position Overview:
This 24-bed Unit is where we care for patients with a variety of healthcare needs. We are the designated Stroke Unit. We provide for Respiratory compromised patients on Bipap, High-flo and/or Chronic Long Term vents. We manipulate and titrate vasoactive infusions and have bedside monitors. We provide care for patients with DKA, CHF, Pneumonia, and much more. The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care. 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.


Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
