The Associate Director, Single Family Credit Policy, is currently seeking a Credit Policy Risk Analytics Senior to join the team. The person hired into this role will be responsible for supporting the development of Single-Family credit and capacity risk management policies, requirements, and guidelines.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • The proactive development and recommendation of effective, timely and well-written credit and capacity risk management policies, concepts, requirements and guidelines that adequately address and mitigate risk based on his or her extensive knowledge of mortgage lending/mortgage loan origination industry and underwriting concepts, as well as mortgage loan industry developments and market trends consistent with the Single-Family Mortgage Credit Risk Management goals and objectives;
  • The ability to effectively and efficiently work on a variety of complex credit and capacity issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across the Mortgage Credit Risk Management Team, as well as with internal and external clients, to ensure that input from their respective areas are considered and evaluated when developing policies
  • The Credit Policy Risk Analytics Senior is a key member of the Freddie Mac credit and capacity risk management team who provides guidance and interpretation on credit and capacity related issues to internal and external customers; and works on a variety of credit and capacity related policies and customer solutions on an as-needed basis.


  • Typically, 5-8 years of experience in conventional mortgage credit risk analysis
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and collaborate effectively and easily with internal and external clients
  • Superior organization and time management skills and the ability manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to interact well with others
  • Subject matter expertise in single family mortgage credit policy, underwriting, and loan origination processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • The highest level of professionalism, self-motivation, adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-changing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word and Excel
  • Some travel may be required
