IT Support Specialist
Our client in Washington, DC is searching for a long-term Temporary IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to computer system users within the organization.
This is providing Tier 1 support for a helpdesk system. Duties will include answering user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operations to resolve problems; overseeing the daily performance of computer systems and peripheral equipment; setting up employee equipment; and handling minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment. Will also maintains account and inventory records; refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or managers for service; train users in the proper use of hardware or software; and provide support for their IP phone system and cell phones.
Must have a Technical or Associate’s degree along with at least 2 years of experience with an electronic helpdesk system. Certification in Microsoft and/or Cisco technologies is desirable. Other skills needed include advanced knowledge of basic PC components; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft based networking protocols; exposure to basic scripting language; exposure to voice and data telecommunications systems; exposure to remote access technologies for support and office connectivity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
