Job Details
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) seeks an Accounting Assistant to provide administrative support for association activities in the areas of accounting and general administration. The position requires a highly organized and detail oriented professional to process Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
Daily AR responsibilities include recording check and credit card payments in ClearVantage and Access (association management software databases); responding to all payment-related questions including membership, conference registrations, advertising, etc.; and invoicing for other products/services.
AP responsibilities include daily uploading and coding of invoices and travel reimbursements into a paperless AP software (PN3); weekly cutting and mailing checks from financial software (Microsoft Dynamics SL); and monthly uploading and coding of corporate credit card statements into PN3.
This individual ensures accuracy of coding and completeness of backup documentation for all AR/AP transactions; runs month end AP closing reports; prepares general ledger entries related to cash receipts and office equipment; distributes monthly financial statements; and administers and trains staff on PN3.
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting. Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to learn new software quickly. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) strongly preferred.
