    We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

    To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as providing technical support in evaluating, designing, implementing, and supporting unified communications environments specifically around audio, video and web conferencing and electronic collaboration. Participating on information technology (IT) Projects and Work Groups in developing policies, guidelines and information management systems to assess business processes and create software solutions to meet customer needs; providing guidance and advice to management officials on IT systems migration processes and procedures. Expertise in support of unified communications technologies, specifically those related to Office365.

    Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate

    GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

    1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

    2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the
    services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in
    the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide
    information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available
    products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

    3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups
    effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical,
    sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to
    nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

    4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound
    judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  

    -Ability to develop recommendations on information systems impacting agency IT policies or programs. 

    -Ability to develop and implement IT training and education programs. 

    -Knowledge of a wide range of computer troubleshooting techniques, requirements, methods, sources, and procedures to perform a variety of assignments involving unified communications services, support and management.

    -Skill in oral communication.

    -Ability to develop, implement and/or coordinate activities for the protection and restoration of unified communications services and capabilities. 

    -Knowledge of contract management. 

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Except in special circumstances, those new to the federal government will be hired at the starting salary (step 1) of the applicable grade range listed above.
