  • CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.

    To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:

    • Experience with FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Program) and FISMA (Federal Information Security Modernization Act) implementations for complex IT systems that must meet Continuous Monitoring and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program metrics on vulnerability and configuration requirements;
    • Experience using the IBM BigFix asset management tool in the proper configuration of IT systems that must meet FISMA and DOT guidelines;
    • Experience applying Agile IT project management principles, concepts, and practices to develop and interpret Agile IT project management policies;
    • Experience formulating and directing efforts to solve complex and time sensitive IT problems associated with information systems;
    • Experience using Federal Governmental tools, Programs, and Standards (e.g. CDM, Trusted Internet Connection, FISMA, etc.);
    • Experience working with various layers of management such as Directors, Associate Administrators, CXO level executives;
    • Experience leading IT modernization projects or initiatives including analyzing current legacy IT systems and infrastructure; designing future state solutions using innovative technology and approaches, and leading the migration or deployment of legacy IT solutions to the new IT systems or infrastructure including FedRAMP cloud environments.

    In addition to meeting the above described specialized experience requirements, your IT experience will be evaluated. It must include experience in the following competencies.

    • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
