  • You must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • You must successfuly complete a background investigation. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • QUALIFICATIONS: GS-12: one year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-11 grade level in the Federal System) obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing guidance and interpretation of policies, regulations, and emerging legislation regarding programs; participating in strategic program planning, development and evaluation and implementation of long-term program goals and directives; applying a wide range of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of programs; and developing modifications, revisions, and implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled
