  • Background or Security Investigation: This is a non-critical sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a non-critical position within the agency as a condition of employment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • French language fluency required
  • Overseas travel to austere locations is required

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-xx grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as successfully served in a lead management role, individually responsible for supervising major aspects of high-level Continental United States (CONUS) and Overseas Continental United States (OCONUS) conference and program events, to include overseeing the planning, budgeting, logistical and cross-organizational coordination. Must also possess experience successfully managing logistical and program operations on-the-ground in Africa.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is (or is not) substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.

This position can be converted to career conditional or career appointment within the competitive service after successful completion of two years of continuous service under the term appointment.

Initial Probationary Period: You will be required to serve an initial probationary period of two years if one has not already been completed.
