SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) at the GS-11 (ZA-II for NIST) federal grade level. Specialized experience is defined as experience with expert writing and editing skills, knowledge of government terminology for drafting and editing reports and other public facing communications, experience in knowledge of working across multiple organizations with separate disciplines, writing technical documents in clear and precise English.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

* Skill in drafting, writing, proofing and editing professional documents of a complex nature.
* Skill in drafting statements of work, invoicing and approving of contract work on projects of substantive scope as a COR.
* Ability to execute NIST MEP brand proposition through press and other media and create media interest in the value proposition of NIST MEP.
* Ability to perform program management by prioritizing and establishing criterion for multiple assignments; using software to develop databases for tracking news and press articles to provide operational process improvement.
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, working with external customers and making presentations before various audiences.
