To qualify for the GS-9: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to the GS-7 federal grade level. Specialized experience for the position is defined as: Experience in analyzing administrative procedures to recommend improvements in efficiency; researching and gathering data for use by senior staff; making and coordinating travel arrangements, processing time and attendance, and composing standard letters and recurrent reports using computer applications and web-based technologies e.g, Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, and the Internet; OR two full years of Graduate Education OR a Master's Degree, LL.B, J.D., or equivalent degree that demonstrates the competencies needed to do the work of the position may be substituted for the experience requirement; OR a combination of education and experience as listed above.
All academic degrees and course work must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools that meet this criteria see www.ed.gov.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP).
