The Brain and Behavior Initiative at the University of Maryland is searching for an Executive Director. BBI is a large, interdisciplinary, campus-wide research consortium including over 200 affiliated faculty members in approximately 45 departments across seven Colleges and Schools.
The Executive Director will be expected to build upon the BBI’s established base to foster and integrate groundbreaking research and educational activities; work with departments, colleges and other partners to build neuroscience on both campuses; and to lead a research group that exemplifies scientific and technological excellence.
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D and/or an M.D. in a field related to the mission of BBI, must have an outstanding research and publication record, substantial external grant funding, relevant administrative experience, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentorship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels A joint appointment in two or more departments/colleges at College Park and/or in one of the professional colleges at UMB is possible.
