Summer Student Positions - IT Support Aide, Network Support Aide, IT Security Aide

Fairfax Water is currently accepting applications for summer intern positions. Employment will begin on either May 13, May 27, June 10, or June 24, 2019 and you may continue to work until August 16, 2019 as last work day of program.
IT Support Aide, work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Position will provide end-user technical support for computers, mobile devices, peripherals, networking, and applications in a timely and professional manner. Perform help-desk support according to procedures (use of call center agent, maintain a written case/ticket log, etc.). (If you need time off you must find someone to work your shift.) Troubleshoot and assist users with technology issues. Perform asset inventory and disposition. Assist with preparation and deployment of computers and mobile devices. Install, uninstall, and configure software. Assist with documentation of processes and technical support issues. Assist with content inventory, migration, and development (SharePoint/Intranet). Assist with training sessions.
- Must project professionalism.
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills, strong computer knowledge, and good communication skills.
- Majoring in IT field in college.
IT Security Aide, work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Candidate will provide end-user technical support for computers, mobile devices, peripherals, networking, and applications in a timely and professional manner. Perform help-desk support according to procedures. Troubleshoot and assist users with technology issues. Assist with deployment and disposition of computers and devices. Install, uninstall, and configure software. Assist with forensics analysis and fact gathering. Assist with security applications/tools including but not limited to spam filtering and endpoint protection. Assist with operating system and application patch management and updates. Analyze IT security data for anomalies. Assist with IT content inventory, migration, and development (SharePoint/Intranet). Assist with training sessions.

The following qualifications are required for each position in addition to the specific requirements listed for each position:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a college, university or trade school for the upcoming fall to qualify for the program.
- Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing
- Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening
