  • Applicants qualify at the GS-07 level by one of the following:

    A. Have a bachelor's degree and superior academic achievement (SAA) based on one of the following: (1) class standing (upper third standing in graduating class); (2) grade-point average (2.95 overall or over the last two years of bachelor's degree -or- 3.45 in your major field or over the last two years in your major); or (3) election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. (Transcript must be provided)
    B. Have at least one full year of graduate level study in business administration, public administration, management, law, or another field related to the position. (Transcript must be provided)
    C. Have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing such duties as assisting higher graded specialists in the management of automated document and tracking systems; generating readily available reports for analysis by senior staff; and performing assignments coding data and generating reports.
    D. Have less than the full amount of graduate education described in "B" and less than the amount of experience described in "C," but I have a combination of the type of graduate education described in "B" and the type of experience described in "C" such that when combined equals one hundred percent of the qualifying experience. (Transcript must be provided)

    Applicants qualify at the GS-09 level by one of the following:

    A. Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or a L.L.B or J.D., (if related); with a major field of study in one of the following areas: business administration, public administration, management, law, or another field related to the position. (Transcript must be provided)
    B. Have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include activities such as: 1) utilizing knowledge of legal reference sources to perform legal research where precedents are available; 2) conducting analysis on specific data using precedent cases as a resource; and 3) coding data and generating reports in a variety of case management operating and office automation systems.
    C. Have less than the full amount of graduate education described in "B" and less than the amount of experience described in "C," but I have a combination of the type of graduate education described in "B" and the type of experience described in "C." To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours or equivalent earned towards a graduate degree, in excess of 18 semester hours, and divide by 18 semester hours or equivalent. Then take the number of months of experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Transcript must be provided).

    A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet those requirements will be grounds for termination.
