  • To Qualify at the GS- 13 Level you must:

    Successfully completed a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor's degree or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).

    In addition:

    You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include: planning, negotiating, drafting, and executing a variety of technology transfer agreements such as Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Materials-CRADAs (M-CRADAs) or equivalent kinds of agreements; resolving complex problems related to patents or technology transfer agreements; advising on matters involving domestic and foreign patent rights, policies and procedures; developing royalty proposals based on analyses of the stage of development of technology, size of market, and availability of competing technologies.


    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
