System Administrator

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for upgrade and performance-tune a lab environment. Identify and diagnose system issues. Triage all user requests for production system component problems. Maintain responsibility for keeping a pulse on industry trends and applying it to product as necessary. Perform Linux system setup and management for both physical and virtual operation systems (OS), including provisioning, configuration, patching and update management, platform securing and hardening. Provide manual and automated system management across widely dispersed Linux systems. Administer and configure virtual machines and VM clusters.  

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity within the federal government  

-5 years of experience in administering Linux and Unix systems

-Experience with VMware 5.5+

-Experience in provisioning systems, configuring systems, patching and managing systems, and securing and hardening systems

-Experience in developing and implementing system configuration scripts in Perl, Bourne, Bash and C-Shell

-Experience creating documentation to outline processes and procedures

-Experience with Linux firewall configuration, including iptables and firewalls
-Experience with Kickstart, NAT and gateway setup

-TS/SCI with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree or 15 years of experience as a system administration experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in deploying software updates
