Optima Health Community Care is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our Health Plan Accounting team in Virginia Beach, VA.

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Department/Position Overview:
The selected candidate in this role will have a strong accounting background and demonstrated workings experience and qualities to include:

  • Compiling and analyzing financial statements
  • Maintenance of full GL
  • Complex problem solving and time management
  • Detail orientation and accuracy
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Self-directing and team-oriented
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience (preferred)
  • CPA / Master's Degree in Accounting (preferred)

Optima Health Community Care is a Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus (CCC Plus) Medicaid plan for many older people and those with disabilities. CCC Plus is a Medicaid managed care program through the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Prepare, analyze, research, and adjust financial statements for management presentation. Creates relevant work papers, schedules, and reconciliations. Review and comprehend financial indicators and results of operations, significant operational statistics, variances from budget and historical results. Research technical accounting and financial reporting issues, and assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects. This position assists in preparation and coordination of year-end audits.
