Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivelent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as providing day-to-day administrative operations for an office, responding to inquiries in writing and orally, preparing travel itineraries and booking travel, maintaining appointment/events calendars electronically, and creating documents using Windows software, such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
Or Education: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent degree related to the position may be substituted to meet the experience requirements.
Or a Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the basic qualifications; for example, a half year of experience and a half year of education in the field may be qualifying.

- Ability to perform administrative functions such as preparing reports and memoranda, tracking supplies and inventories, and monitoring day-to-day operations of a program.
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of a program and recommend changes and procedures.
- Ability to interact with customers and address/resolve complaints with tact and diplomacy.
- Skill in written communication to prepare and edit a variety of documents.
