Dewberry is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater CADD Designer in our Fairfax, Virginia, office to assist with a wide range of challenging water and wastewater projects. This is an opportunity for an individual to join a team of energetic, highly engaged professionals in Dewberry’s growing Water Service Line. The ideal candidate will have a prominent role on our team, strong communication skills, and a desire to work collaboratively with Project Engineers in the design and production of contract documents for various water and wastewater projects.
- Prepare plans, sections, and detailed mechanical layout drawings for an array of water and wastewater projects for municipal and private-sector clients;Supervise the production of contract drawing submittals while interfacing and coordinating with various engineering disciplines, technicians, and other design specialists;Provide review and coordination of technical specifications; Conduct QA/QC and constructability reviews of other projects;Support development and management of project budgets and schedules;Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of CAD standards across the Water Service Line;Provide technical assistance and mentoring of junior staff;Perform other duties as necessary.
- A minimum of 15 years of design experience on water and wastewater projects using current versions of CADD;Completion of a Technical School Drafting and Design certificate, an Engineering Technology Associate’s degree or a 4-year degree in an engineering field of study, is preferred;Working knowledge of AutoCAD-3D, AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD P&ID, Arc GIS;Ability to create layouts from process schematics and instrumentation diagrams with minimal oversight;Ability to apply theories, principles, concepts and practices of civil and environmental engineering to the design and construction of water and wastewater pipeline, pumping, and treatment infrastructure;Capable of guiding, mentoring and setting ethical and technical standards for junior engineers and other technicians;Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a self-starter who is detail-oriented with experience collaborating across engineering disciplines.
