Dewberry is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater CADD Designer in our Fairfax, Virginia, office to assist with a wide range of challenging water and wastewater projects. This is an opportunity for an individual to join a team of energetic, highly engaged professionals in Dewberry’s growing Water Service Line. The ideal candidate will have a prominent role on our team, strong communication skills, and a desire to work collaboratively with Project Engineers in the design and production of contract documents for various water and wastewater projects.

 

    Prepare plans, sections, and detailed mechanical layout drawings for an array of water and wastewater projects for municipal and private-sector clients;Supervise the production of contract drawing submittals while interfacing and coordinating with various engineering disciplines, technicians, and other design specialists;Provide review and coordination of technical specifications; Conduct QA/QC and constructability reviews of other projects;Support development and management of project budgets and schedules;Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of CAD standards across the Water Service Line;Provide technical assistance and mentoring of junior staff;Perform other duties as necessary.

 

    A minimum of 15 years of design experience on water and wastewater projects using current versions of CADD;Completion of a Technical School Drafting and Design certificate, an Engineering Technology Associate’s degree or a 4-year degree in an engineering field of study, is preferred;Working knowledge of AutoCAD-3D, AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD P&ID, Arc GIS;Ability to create layouts from process schematics and instrumentation diagrams with minimal oversight;Ability to apply theories, principles, concepts and practices of civil and environmental engineering to the design and construction of water and wastewater pipeline, pumping, and treatment infrastructure;Capable of guiding, mentoring and setting ethical and technical standards for junior engineers and other technicians;Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a self-starter who is detail-oriented with experience collaborating across engineering disciplines.
