  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field - Business-Cost Estimator (P); Level III. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position has a control point; thus, the salary range for this position is capped at GS-15, step 05 which is currently equivalent to $152,760. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched.
  • In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay (GS-13 equivalency) band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a Professional Engineer or Scientist, leading or guiding a research team in developing robust analyses, and/or developing detailed cost estimates for complex systems (e.g. ships, submarines, ship systems, weapon systems, or other Department of Defense systems of systems)

    Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

    1) Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research;
    -OR-
    2) Successful completion a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
