  • At the GS-14 level, you must meet the following qualification:One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is in or directly related to the line of work of this position and has equipped you with the knowledge and competencies to successfully perform the duties of this position. More specifically, this requirement involves experience in: Managing or independently conducting privacy risk assessments of complex information systems, programs, and operations that require analysis of interrelated issues such as technology, law, policy, and regulatory compliance; Developing policy, procedures and guidance for program managers and staff on privacy requirements, methods of compliance during all phases of program and/or system development and operations, and integration of privacy safeguards into technology, business processes, operations, and products; Evaluating and identifying privacy risks associated with inter-agency, inter-governmental, and other types of data sharing arrangements and incorporating safeguards into written agreements, assessments, policies, and procedures; Managing or overseeing privacy program activities including the development and review of Systems of Records Notices, Privacy Impact Assessments, System Privacy Plans, Privacy Act requests, breach response, privacy training, and other privacy compliance activities in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, E-Government Act of 2002, Office of Management and Budget mandates, and National Institute of Standards and Technology guidance; and Developing and editing written materials to ensure quality and suitability for Executive leaders, internal audiences and public viewing.

    TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

    A written test is not required.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

    Telework Suitability:
    The duties of this position are suitable for occasional telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval and if they meet the eligibility criterion in the 2010 Telework Act.
