The position provides administrative & executive support to the Senior Vice President/General Counsel, and the Vice President, Government Affairs. Responsibilities predominately includes administrative duties such as making and changing both domestic and international travel plans, preparing expense reports and check requests utilizing a digital expense and check request system. Other responsibilities include drafting/proofing correspondence and maintaining records and files for the department, providing support for annual budget development and interim reporting, tracking/submitting state-required lobbying financial reports and ethics filings, and assisting with legal seminar presentation logistics. Additional duties include working collaboratively with other department and association staff on the business of the department. This position shares backup duties for the front reception desk for breaks, lunch and vacation coverage.

In addition, this position is also a project manager of Government Affairs research functions.  Responsibilities include conduct basic legal/government affairs research and synthesize qualitative data into concise summaries using WestLaw or similar legal research software.  Gaither data for a wide variety of written and verbal reports based on research.  Manage and track PAC FEC filings and reporting obligations.  Maintain the Government Affairs professional services contracts database.  Manage a member subscription service and contract.  Assist with Washington Fly-In event scheduling and coordination.  Create mail merges and invitations to events.  Create reports and contact lists in multiple databases such as Nimble or other SalesForce related AMS/CMS and FiscalNote.  Manage the grassroots database. Draft letters to Members of Congress and high-level government officials.
