Position Overview
  • Building authentic relationships with hospital supporters, and connecting their passions with the hospital's needs
  • It is critical to be interested in and comfortable connecting one-to-one with individual donors
  • Focus on planned giving; donation solicitation
  • Coordinating a broader planned giving marketing program
  • Assisting with donor stewardship activities
  • Experience
    • 7 years of experience in development activities
    • Prior fundraising experience is required
    • Knowledge of specific planned giving vehicles is a plus

Preferred experience in Capital Campaigns combined with health care sector. Fund Raising experience preferred. Certification/fellowship in a recognized fundraising association (i.e. AHP or AFP) preferred.


Develops and implements ongoing philanthropy programs using a variety of committees and volunteer work force to ensure financial support for Sentara Healthcare.
