Senior Grants Administrator

The George Mason University Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) invites applications for a Senior Grants Administrator responsible for managing pre- and post-award management for designated center/unit(s). Responsibilities: The Senior Grants Administrator facilitates and coordinates with university faculty, departments and central offices to ensure the successful administration of externally sponsored funding. The areas of responsibility include proposal development, award acceptance, fund setup, review of awards and compliance requirements, rebudgeting, and problem resolution.

Qualifications: Experience in a university or nonprofit setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to sponsored research, highly developed oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to be detail-oriented and to multitask are very important. Computer skills that include experience with Microsoft Office, financial management systems, and electronic grant administration; and experience in a team environment are highly desirable.

A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a related field of study; or a combination of education and experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with a CRA (Certified Research Administrator) certification are further preferred.
