Position Summary As a member of our highly qualified Highway/Roadway/Site Civil Design Team you will have the chance to work on significant transportation projects of varying size. Working with other team members, you will utilize your skills to support and lead design teams on transportation planning, design and construction reviews in connection with a wide range of multi-disciplined projects. In this position you will be exposed to a wide-range of projects involving safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, highway design, transit design, site civil design, design review and construction oversight. This position requires a technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering with additional experience in site civil design a plus. Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and site civil projects from conceptual design to final design. This includes having a good working knowledge of the entire project life cycle. * Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages * Have a strong working knowledge of roadway design software tools * Mentor and develop junior staff while providing valuable input into design Best Practices. * Have a positive team-oriented attitude * Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients * Identify schedule and cost variances and develop recommendations for corrective action * Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance * Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff * Maintain a close relationship with clients and track upcoming project opportunities and collaborate on project pursuits, if needed. #BIANote to Virginia Job Seekers: Jacobs ensures nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity in all programs and activities in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
