Benefits Ripple Effect is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the C-suite team. This individual will be a strategic member of the leadership team overseeing, coordinating, and being accountable for all bookkeeping, controllership, and day-to-day internal financial activities of the company. This includes: accounts payable, accounts receivable, working capital management, preparation of regular accounting and financial reports, tax planning and filings, creation of annual budgets and forecasting based upon growth expectations, KPI summaries, and operating briefing to the Ripple Effect leadership team.. Position Overview. Duty Location: Rockville, MD. Employment Classification: Full-Time, Regular. Vacancies: One Opening. Security Level: A security clearance is not required to apply. For this position, we are looking for an accomplished professional to lead the finance and administration activities. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead both strategic and tactical activities associated with key functions including: Corporate Strategy and Leadership; Accounting and Finance; Contracts and Pricing; Facilities. Human Resources Administration and Information Technology operations are optional / preferred.. Specific duties may include:. Corporate Strategy and Leadership. Supervise a team including: contracts manager/pricing specialist and accounting manager, HR administrative support (optional), and IT help desk staff (optional). Lead, coordinate and run all budgeting and financial planning processes including soliciting information from various constituents, using historical trends and information, handling what-if scenarios, and developing new corporate strategies. Participate on company leadership team; serve as trusted business partner to all, and be a modeling expert to assist other leaders to see projections, growth and forecasts. Advise and participate in institutional policy development as a member of the executive leadership team. Engage the CEO and COO to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections. Represent company to financial partners, including financial institutions, government bodies, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.. Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on best practices as well as state and federal laws across all areas. Contribute to the development of strategic goals and operational objectives, as well as the overall management of the organization. Accounting and Finance. Responsible for both tactical day-to-day execution and strategic oversight of accounting activities. Responsible for all financial reporting activity - produce accurate GAAP financial reports. Recommend, implement and follow all accounting policies within set methods of implementations and guidelines as per local laws, US GAAP and Company policy and procedures. Run and direct proper closing cycles of financial systems. Maintain and iterate the accounting system and workflows with a goal towards optimization and efficiency. Work on system upgrades and new system implementations. Manage year-end financial audit without material misstatement. Manage tax reporting along with tax providers: income and local tax reporting and income tax provision work. Oversee banking relationships, cash management and monitor/analyze daily ongoing cash flow. Be gatekeeper to all internal control activity. Contracts and Pricing. Serve as senior advisor to the contracts manager to provide advice and best practices for managing complex contractual situations and managing risks. Lead all DCAA audits and manage procedures, calculation of cost pools, and documentation. Advise business development leads and pricing specialist on best practices for pricing. Ensure administrative compliance with contract terms and conditions. Facilities. Oversee facilities and operations for our headquarters located in Rockville, MD. Develop a strategic approach to right-sizing our investment in office space to address our staff's needs while maintaining cost efficiencies and attracting the right talent. Human Resources (Optional). Oversee and lead all HR administration and compliance functions which includes employee records, benefits administration and payroll. Serve as the liaison with our benefits and insurance brokers. Develop and update organization policies and procedures as necessary. Ensure compliance and reporting including ACA reporting, EEO/AAP reporting, E-Verify and managing COI reports. Remain current on best practices, laws, and regulations. Information Technology (Optional). Lead our IT infrastructure including: software, computer equipment and networking. Requirements. Basic Requirements. Bachelor's degree, Accounting or Business focus preferred. 8+ years of related experience, preferably in FP&A, budgeting, and/or controlling. 3+ years of management experience. Ability to perform at both a strategic and tactical level. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven capacity to reach across organizational hierarchies and structures, and the ability to understand underlying objective. Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities. Proficient computer skills in a cloud environment and a passion for process improvement through technology. Proven skills in problem-solving. Strong management and planning skills, coupled with the ability to shift focus effectively and efficiently. Knowledge of GAAP and demonstrated experience in full accounting responsibilities. Recent relevant hands-on experience and knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information. Participative management style (ie, willingness to express opinion when in minority), while also supportive of collaborative team concept (ie, deep listening to alternative perspectives). Ability to get along with diverse personalities. Preferred Skills. Controller or Director of Finance experience for a government contractor. Experience transitioning accounting systems. Ability to provide leadership in optional areas (Human Resources and Information Technology).
