  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • GS-07: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one of the following:

    A- Experience: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service), performing duties such as, performing developmental assignments under the close guidance of a higher level specialist that provided exposure to a wide variety of management and administrative methods, techniques, and practices such as updating budget data on spreadsheets; compiling data for budget requests; preparing requests for personnel action; providing orientation to new employees; coordinating office moves and telephone service requirements; monitoring usage of government motor vehicles; collecting and analyzing information related to workflow, office procedures and control systems in support of program evaluations; and responding to routine questions concerning administrative procedures and requirements.

    B- Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute successful completion of one full year of graduate level study, or I possess a master's or higher degree, e.g., Ph.D. in an appropriate field such as business administration, industrial management, industrial engineering, industrial psychology, public administration, political science, or government.

    C- Superior Academic Achievement: You may substitute superior academic achievement for the experience required at the GS-7 level. You must have completed the requirements for a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, class standing in the upper third of a graduating class or major subdivision, or membership in a national scholastic honor society. The degree must be in the fields described in "B" above.

    D - Combining Education and Experience: Appropriate combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-07 grade level.

    National Service Experience (i.e. volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
