The Central Sterile Processing Technician coordinates and collaborates the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization and dispensing of surgical instrument and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures in operating room and related department.

Qualified candidates will possess:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required
• One year of Central Sterile Processing experience required

Work Schedule:


FLEX Shift - Mid-Shift and Afternoon Shift; Every other weekend; Holiday rotation



Principle Duties and Responsibilities:


* Dissembles, cleans, sterilizes, and reassembles, packages sterile surgical instruments according to


specification and / or manufacturer instructions.


* Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination


of instruments and medical equipment.


* Provide integrity and sterility of products and services for the customers.


* Work in conjunction with OR staff to provide timely sterile products.


* Operate and maintain sterilizer: keep records of loads completed, items of the load and maintenance


procedure performed.


* Adheres to AORN, AAMI and joint commission standards (e.g. biological, chemical and mechanical


monitoring) in the performance of duties.


* Operate and maintain decontamination machines: instrument washer, cart washer, sonic, medisafe


* Decontaminate, reprocess and maintain Flexible endoscopes


* Assists stocking and maintaining department inventory levels.


* Performs required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.


* Perform related duties, as required

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing


Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
