Job Summary: The Manager of Accounting is responsible for accurate and timely financial statements and information by hands-on guiding and managing workflow and processes for leadership; facilitating development of quarterly and annual budget, annual audit; and overseeing external relationships for banking, payroll/benefits, and accounting services. Your efforts contribute to meeting company-wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals by producing accurate financial information, thorough analysis of that information and effective management of accounts payable. Responsibilities and Duties: The primary responsibility of Manager of Accounting is to serve as the lead staff member facilitating and guiding financial operations to ensure timely and accurate financial information and reporting. These are specific areas that must be addressed in meeting that responsibility: Administrative & Operational: Maintain a professional demeanor that reflects the organization's commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and respect for individuals. Communicate and work effectively with staff by being an educator of financial procedures, process, and workflow. Manage designated staff and outsource accounting services for input of accounts payable, invoicing, cash receipts, and other schedules and reconciliation. Recommend improvements to processes and systems to streamline workflow to insure conformance with GAAP and accounting procedures. Financial Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate, input and manage accounts payable, and cash receipts, and processing of account and bank reconciliation. Organize and coordinate annual audit - filing and retrieval of data and reports and working with audit team. Insure timely payment of vendor invoices and resolve vendor disputes and inquiries. Maintain schedules and reconcile accounts for balance sheet accounts for periodic financial reports to CEO, Executive Staff and Board of Directors. Prepare monthly journal entries as required. Manage timely validation of 1099 forms and other fillings with IRS. Oversee running of monthly Great Plains/IMIS integration and batch processing reports including cash receipts and accounts receivables. Complete audit work papers and work with auditors for completion of audit. Coordinate the development of annual budget. Coordinate the filing of appropriate local, state, and federal forms. Coordinate and submit staff payroll and benefits and onboarding of new staff. Special projects as assigned by CEO. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance CPA not required Non-Profit Experience Required Sound communications, organizational, and team skills. Must be computer savvy with Microsoft Great Plains and IMIS experience critical. Knowledgeable of accounting procedures and systems with 4-6 years of experience. Meet or exceed test requirements as established by the organization.
