Senior Storage Engineer to join our team in support of a new program at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in Arlington, VA. Candidates must possess an active Secret Clearance to be considered. The Senior Storage Engineer will assist ONR with the engineering and sustainment of all storage infrastructure operations. The Senior Storage Engineer will provide all activities related to the administration of the NetApp and other storage area network infrastructure. Responsibilities o Troubleshoot file server hardware and operating system problems and respond to alerts in a timely manner. o Provide capacity planning analysis and other needs assessments. o Provide expertise in storage hardware and software selection. o Implement redundant systems and policies for disaster recoveryarchiving and leads development of backup and restore procedures. o Communicate and lead the operation of data storage retention policies and create routines to facilitate storage best practices. o Provide expertise in NFSCIFS technologies, FiberiSCSI best practices, and storage troubleshooting. o Support storage replication and snapshot technologies such as SRDF, RecoverPoint, SnapMirror, etc. o Develop, maintain, and support technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for mid- to large-sized projects. o Determine and develop approaches to solutions. o Provide consistent follow-up on incidentschangestasks until final objectives are completed. o Perform installation, maintenance, and support of system softwarehardware and provides user support. o Identify key barrierscore problems and applies problem solving skills to deal with complex situations. o Works independently with minimal guidance and collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team. o Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. o Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes. o Deliver weekly status updates to leadership. o Monitor and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved. o Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends (on a rotational basis) per the departments on-call agreement to meet SLAs and metrics. Required Qualifications o Five (5) years of Systems and Storage related experience o Bachelors degree or 4 years equivalent experience o IAT Level II certification (Security CE and computing environment certification) o Active Secret Clearance or current interim Additional Desired SkillsetsExperience o VMware experience o Storage Area Network (SANNetApp)
