Government Technology Reporter, FedScoop WASHINGTON, DC FedScoop seeks a technology reporter to cover the federal government's use of IT to serve American citizens. The ideal candidate is an innovative, enterprising and relationship-oriented digital storyteller whose curiosities take them beyond the typical news cycle to uncover what s really going on in the business of federal technology. As a Government Technology Reporter you'll: Lead FedScoop's coverage of technology at civilian agencies to generate fresh story ideas; Write stories from short hits on personnel changes and acquisition plans to in-depth investigative features that are sent in a daily newsletter to 100,000+ subscribers; Extend the readership of your stories with SEO-friendly headlines, social media promotion and other audience engagement best practices; Contribute to long-term special editorial projects that impact the IT community governmentwide; Build community around the FedScoop brand by participating in events, moderating panels, developing an expertise in your subject matter and more; and Work with the Scoop News Group team to create multimedia content for FedScoop, FedScoop TV and FedScoop Radio. Qualified applicants, at a minimum, have: Four years of professional daily journalism experience as a reporter or editor; Familiarity with technology and the federal government, particularly civilian and Cabinet-level agencies; A bachelor's degree in journalism, preferably online/new media concentration; Strong communications and organization skills; A proactive, \"can-do\" attitude with strong problem-solving ability; The willingness to work collaboratively with a team and independently as required; Strong knowledge of SEO, AP Style and social media; and Experience with multimedia tools, CMS systems and programming to create a polished final product.
