Responsibilities 13; Summary of Responsibilities The Aerospace Corporation is looking for motivated and talented forward thinking engineers and scientists to join the team developing the next generation of resilient satellites. As a leader, the Chief Architect - Space Survivability will advance cutting edge survivability technologies using innovative and state-of-the-art modeling tools and techniques to define future architectures. The selected candidate will lead overall enterprise architecture concept definition and modeling and simulation efforts for critical resiliency architectures in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. This innovative and self-motivated individual will lead a team of program office and Aerospace Engineering Matrix experts who will define the space systems of tomorrow through these architecture and modeling efforts. Key Functions -Develop emergent enterprise architecture strategies and lead subsequent execution of space survivability and resiliency architecture trade studies through modeling & simulation and analysis tools to assess the performance of space systems and architectures. -Work directly with our senior government customers to develop fundamental understanding of space threats, define and measure the performance of new survivability concepts, and mature the strategies that will ensure US space systems can continue to support the warfighter during conflicts. -Manage Aerospace Engineering Matrix reachback support to develop new modeling tools and analysis capability while also adapting and aggregating exiting models to evaluate system resiliency and system performance. -Strategically plan overall Aerospace program architecture activities. -Define new Aerospace analytical capabilities and subsequently formulate and engage engineering matrix teams to implement these new capabilities. -Interpersonal and presentation skills will be critical in presenting highly technical results to senior officials as well as working with the government teams to bring new Aerospace capability to solve newly identified problems. -Occasional travel within the US is required 13; Qualifications 13; Required Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in science, physics, mathematics or engineering from a recognized institution -12+ years of experience developing and/or executing aerospace systems performance models -Knowledge of natural and man-made threats to space systems -Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal presentations and written reports -Current Top Secret/SSBI/SCI is required. Additional customer security requirements apply.
