Among the many services and programs SHWD administers are: Aquatics, Athletics, Boxing, Field Permits & Usage, Golf, Ice Rinks, Sports Complexes, Tennis, Trap & Skeet, and comprehensive program Health & Wellness activities. The Opportunity The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking an Aquatics Facility Manager, at the Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatics Center, who will be responsible for the overall budgeting, operation, and programming of this facility, as well as the Glendale Splash Park. This position will report to the Aquatics Regional Manager. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, be motivated, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and have the ability to work as a member of a team. Experience should include knowledge of aquatics facility operations and programming. Examples of Important Duties: Develop a training and recruitment plan to staff the facility. Developing programming to match community needs. Working with marketing department, and other facility stakeholders, to properly advertise offerings. Manages the operation, maintenance, security and repair of the assigned facilities and its equipment. Recruits, supervise, evaluates and train staff. Plans, schedules and assigns work of staff. Evaluates operational policies and initiates changes for improvement. Coordinates in-service training and safety auditing program for assigned facilities. Manages camps, swim lesson, fitness, recreational, certification programs and special events for assigned facilities. Processes bills/invoices Communicates with various cross-functional teams within department and in other divisions to properly administer various programs and procedures. Oversees facility rental and all public relations and marketing for facility programs. Manages and coordinates operating budget for assigned facility. Monitors revenue producing programs and activities. Controls expenditures in accordance with approved budget. Prepares and maintains a variety of administrative records of facility such as revenue, and expenses, inventory of supplies and equipment, timecards, rentals, facility maintenance, attendance and staff certifications. Provides guidance to subordinate staff on employee-related matters (ie disciplinary, training, recruitment and selection, etc Research and evaluate internal and external aquatics programming, utilizing this information to develop new initiatives or to restructure current programs. Other duties and special projects, as assigned Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Three or more years of aquatic facility and program management experience Experience with preparing and maintaining seasonal/outdoor pools Experience coordinating American Red Cross training programs American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Pool Operator's Certification/License American Red Cross instructor certification,a plus Aquatic Fitness and Swim Lesson Program Coordination Experience
