Corporate Brokers, a staffing agency in Annapolis MD, is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The Senior Accountant will ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills to work with individual and corporate clients as well as internal staff. The Senior Accountant will assist the Chief Financial Officer on special projects as needed. Responsibilities: Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses Oversee the day to day leadership and development of team members Analyze financial information and summarize financial status Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP Prepare financial management reports within specified deadlines Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities Prepare for review and work closely with external accountants Manage tax audits and tax returns Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting 4+ years of experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting & financial data analysis Knowledge of GAAP, applicable laws, codes, and regulations Experienced in AP, AR & Payroll analysis and processing Advanced G/L experience Desired Skills: CPA or public accounting experience Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks #LI-CB3
