Cybersecurity Design and Engineering Professional Employer has an immediate need for a Cybersecurity Design and Engineering Professional in Herndon, VA . Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Work on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross- functional initiatives. Provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Required: A Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in computer science, engineering or related area of study. Require 7 years of relevant experience. In-depth Cyber and IT security knowledge. Strong understanding of Cyber and IT security risks, threats and prevention measures. Expertise in secure system architecture and infrastructure design and development skills. Linux skills desired. Experience in relevant program/scripting languages, preferred. Deep understanding of security standards and best practices. Expertise in risk assessment and management skills. Solid understanding of networking and network security. Extensive knowledge of relevant security tools and products. In-depth project management skills. 7-9years of subject matter experience installing, integrating, configuring, maintaining and operating COTS security related tools, which make up a cohesive solution providing security coverage for IT assets. Responsibilities: Design, modify and deliver cybersecurity systems architecture, infrastructure and engineering based on client security needs, industry requirements and trends, client/company environment requirements and legacy system constraints and capabilities. Recommend and coordinate the development, enhancement and organization of the architecture and infrastructure of the cybersecurity embedded in or overlaid on client or company's technology solutions. Monitor the output of cybersecurity teams and contribute to security requirements definition, documentation, development and deployment processes. Combine industry expertise with a thorough understanding of information and cybersecurity technology to gather cybersecurity requirements and develop cybersecurity infrastructures and architectures. Interface with systems architects in order to design and build a secure infrastructure. Conduct complex cybersecurity solution testing to ensure performance and quality. Install, integrate and configure specific security COTS tools in model lab and provides feedback to Systems Integration Manager on installation and configuration guidance. Install, integrate, and configure specific security COTS tools in client environment and supports test team during test events. Works with lab engineers to get assistance with product and data integration as required. Provide guidance to junior level SMEs.
