FEI is looking for a Senior DevOps Technical Lead with technical leadership skills that can play a key role on our team. Our DevOps Technical Lead will work collaboratively with our automated test team to deploy and operate systems, help to automate and streamline operations and processes and troubleshoot issues within multiple environments. We would expect this person to be passionate about staying current on trends and best practices in software development and testing tools with a firm understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle. Responsibilities: Serve as the DevOps Subject Matter Expert liaison to Application Development Organizations and Federal Government Agency stakeholders Envision and implement flexible new testing approaches in support of Agile/DevOps development efforts and automated testing whenever possible Minimize manual work through automation. Implement infrastructure and services with monitoring, alerting, logging, and distributed tracing tools. Lead and maintain discipline around build and release operations, best-practices, and protocols across the entire development team Help architect, build, and deploy secure infrastructure in support of multiple testing teams including standards for Docker environments, load balancers, etc. Thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure, start-up culture that expects great things every day. Collect and review quantitative and qualitative data related to software testing and development activities for measurement and analysis Lead conference calls and provide demonstrations as required providing technical and testing leadership to other members of the team Work with program leadership to contribute to the development of training for the team; be available to provide training to the team as required Help increase productivity through continuous process improvements and understand applications from both a technical and business perspective Required Experience: 7-10 years of Testing and Development experience in addition to Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Science. Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Testing and Agile related certifications Proven success developing excellent working relationships with clients and teaming partners Expert technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools and deployment processes and tools Broad technical skills across multiple domains (Technology, Information, Process, Applications, etc.) and platforms (client-server, web-based, N-tier, etc.) Knowledge and/or experience with successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing and Automated Testing Experience with manual and automated testing of web based software Experience working with multiple development organizations or teams Experience supporting testing in an Agile environment with experience in a variety of Agile frameworks Experience implementing DevOps practices and experience in a cloud environment such as Amazon Web Services Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles and practices Preferred Experience: Experience with developing automation test scripts Experience with Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL Working knowledge of web application programming, APIs, databases and system design Working knowledge of source control tools such as Git, SVN and TFS and working knowledge of build/release tools such as Jenkins and Nexus Working knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Java, PHP, Ruby, etc. Working knowledge of testing tools such as Selenium, TestRail, JAWS, WAT/WAVE, JMeter, ChromeLens, SortSite, Cucumber (Gherkin), Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Postman, SOAP UI Working knowledge of collaboration and communication tools such as Confluence, JIRA, HipChat and Swagger Primary Location - Position will be based out of our Columbia, MD office but will require frequent onsite participation at or near CMS headquarters in Woodlawn, MD.
