We are looking for a strong Project Manager to join our NOAA Team in Silver Spring, MD. In this role, the Project Manager will work with a multi-functional team that provides the full range of Program Management services, to include technical project management supporting satellite initiatives. Responsibilities: Provide project management support, to include developing project documents and supporting activities from initiation through close out Maintain interaction with the Government and contractor project managers and the ground-floor implementers/executors of the project, specifically monitoring, negotiating, informing and coordinating among various NESDIS enterprise satellite ground system initiatives, such as the Cloud Architecture and Enterprise Algorithm projects Facilitate all the components of the project to ensure they remain connected and communicating. Demonstrate professional communication skills when advising, recommending, coordinating, and promoting compromise Effectively and regularly communicate information on budget, schedule, risk and opportunity to the Government project manager. Demonstrate basic acuity and knowledge of project management approaches and concepts and be able to suggest process improvement opportunities to the Government project manager. Specific areas include satellite data collection/observation work-flow Develop executive-level correspondence, reports, agreements, briefings, meeting minutes, etc. Qualifications: Required: PMP certification Bachelor's degree or higher 5 years of project management experience 3 years of Executive-level programmatic and administrative support Desired: Experience with policy and oversight activities at the program or agency level Experience with government remote sensing/geospatial information organizations Working knowledge of SharePoint Oral communications skills of science and/or systems engineering principles - provided by Dice PMP certification, cloud knowledge/experience
