Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Cancer Registrar. Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is part of 12 hospital cancer program accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Our Sentara Cancer Network is at the forefront of cancer diagnosis and care, bringing access to quality cancer services to patients in Virginia and North Carolina. Our integrated network includes 12 acute care hospitals with multiple outpatient settings and a partnership with Eastern Virginia Medical School. As a cancer registrar, you are an integral part of the Oncology Care Team and we are looking for individuals that are committed to quality and compassionate care, along with employee growth and satisfaction!

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility offering specialized, tertiary services. SVBGH is the region’s only Level III Trauma Center and home to Sentara Heart Center, which is the portal to a sophisticated array of quality cardiac services with outcomes that surpass national standards. SVBGH is also one of only ten Advanced Primary Stroke Centers in Virginia certified by the Joint Commission. Other clinical services at this facility include Palliative Care Program, the Coastal Cancer Center, Diabetes Center, Orthopedics, Accredited Sleep Disorders Center, and an Inpatient Rehab Unit.

Maintains an efficient cancer database of all the patients diagnosed and/or treated with cancer in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements for Sentara Cancer Network. Consistently meets productivity goals in regards to abstracting. Responsible for assisting with the coordination of cancer conferences, assisting with maintaining annual follow-up of patients accessed to database as well as perform data retrieval to support cancer research, patient care improvement studies and quality assurance for physicians and the Cancer Program.
