IT System Administrator
Organize and direct the configuration and operation of information management systems, provide day-to-day system administration, including system and resource optimization and user assistance, conduct capacity and performance analysis, and provide system configuration change and upgrade recommendations. Increase system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develop system administrator procedures, and conduct system administrator training and skills assessment. Determine computer user needs, analyze system capabilities and programming techniques and controls, manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of the system, and perform system capacity analysis and planning. Maintain servers, create monitoring reports and logs, ensure functionality of system links, monitor systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establish back-ups, monitor system security, develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits, and minimize impacts on customer organizations.
Review all server, workstation, and VM logs weekly, provide for IAVA compliance and reporting, update anti-virus software on all servers, workstations, and VMs, and conduct vulnerability scans on all servers, workstation, and VMs. Generate subsystem initial site security plans, perform information assurance software patching, support accreditation, and monitor and review logs.
-Experience with writing, editing, and reviewing Linux and UNIX Shell scripts
-Knowledge of RHEL with a large storage array, including NAS, SAN, or 3PAR type architecture based on operating systems, such RedHat Linux, FSTAB, or NFS
-Knowledge of Virtual machines
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required
-HS diploma or GED
-RedHat Certified System Administration (RHCSA) or CompTIA Security+ (SY0-301) Certification required
-DoD 8570.1 Workplace Improvement Plan IAT Level II Compliant Certification required
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
